Interventional Radiology Theatres are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Nurse, preferably with Interventional Radiology (IR) experience, to join the team as a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Are you a motivated and compassionate practitioner who can communicate effectively and work collaboratively with wards, community GPs, referrers, healthcare providers and patients? Are you passionate about ensuring safe, effective patient pathways for both elective and acute patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures?
You will primarily be based at the SJUH site, coordinating care for patients within an agreed caseload across a range of specialties, including Hepatobiliary, Renal, Hepatology, and Respiratory services.
As a key point of contact for patients and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will provide a comprehensive, wrap-around model of care. You will ensure patients are fully informed about their upcoming procedures and actively support their pre-procedure assessment, optimisation, care, and procedural planning.
Working closely with the Interventional Radiology MDT, you will be an autonomous practitioner who is confident within your field and committed to delivering the highest standards of patient care. We are looking for someone who demonstrates “The Leeds Way” values and is passionate about delivering safe, effective treatment pathways alongside an excellent patient experience.
Do you hold a Non-Medical Prescribing qualification? While this would be advantageous, it is not essential, provided you are willing to undertake the Non-Medical Prescribing postgraduate course if not already qualified. This qualification and associated scope of practice will support you in working proactively and autonomously to optimise patient care.
We are committed to supporting your development. Appropriate internal and external training will be provided to help you develop the knowledge and skills required for the role.
