Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Building Management Systems (BMS) Engineer to design, program, and commission smart building automation systems across the Northern Counties. You will lead technical delivery for Heating / Renewable Hybrid Systems and Heat Network projects, specialising in Johnsons EasyIO, : Niagara (N4), and Trend platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- System Architecture: Design, engineer and integrate open-protocol BMS networks using BACnet, Modbus and LonWorks.
- Software Engineering: Write, test, and deploy control strategies and graphic user interfaces from scratch.
- Integration: Seamlessly connect legacy building systems to modern Tridium N4 frameworks.
- Commissioning: Perform point-to-point testing, loop tuning, and functional performance verification on-site.
- Technical Support: Diagnose complex software, hardware, and network communication faults.
- Documentation: Produce accurate descriptions of operations, point lists, and as-built schematics.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- EasyIO proficiency - hands-on experience configuring and programming EasyIO controllers (EC, FG, FS, and FW series) using EP and CPT or Sedona frameworks.
- Certified in Tridium Niagara 4 (TCP) with a strong portfolio of N4 graphics and driver integrations.
- Proven experience in programming and engineering Trend control systems (IQ3, IQ4, IQ4, IQECO).
- Deep understanding of IP networking, RS-485 serial communications, and cybersecurity basics.
- Minimum of 5 years working actively as a BMS systems engineer.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematic drawings accurately.
- Valid and clean UK driving license and willingness to travel regionally across the North.
Preferred attributes:
- Relevant electrical and mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent field experience.
- Strong communication skills for direct client communication and subcontractor management.
