We are seeking a high quality Maintenance Team Leader to join the team at our Hazlehead site. This role requires supervising and assisting the engineering activities manufacturing processes to the achievement of planned site operational and Health & Safety objectives. The right candidate will develop and influence individual team members, ensuring that they are clearly aware of both their personal and their team objectives.
Requirements of the Maintenance Team Leader role are:
Minimum:
- Leadership & Management skills
- Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Lean Manufacturing and other CI Techniques
- Experience with digital maintenance planning software
- Exposure to the SQCPD (or equivalent) model
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experienced/confident communicating with personnel at all levels
Desirable:
- NVQ level 3 Qualified / a recognised apprenticeship in Engineering A strong technical knowledge in clay industry equipment
- ILM level 3 – Management / Leadership qualification
- Previous experience of leading a team
- COMAH Knowledge
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Team Leader role include:
- Active engagement with plant safety, raising of safety concerns and strict adherence to the Company's 12 Work Safe Basics.
- To be a hands-on (80/20% split practical/office based) member of the maintenance team, providing leadership and motivation to the engineering team.
- Responsible for identifying and prioritising pro-active and reactive maintenance tasks on a daily basis.
- Supporting the Engineering Manager in the day to day running of the department.
- The writing of clear, concise handovers between shifts; capturing machines issues that could impact production.
- Lead the shift on day to day maintenance activity maintaining machine availability.
- Provide hands on support for shift teams.
- Coach and mentor maintenance engineers to develop succession plan.
- Identify training requirements of maintenance team.
- To actively and analytically fault find.
- Responsible for overseeing plant safety including site emergency evacuation procedures.
- Drive Health & Safety and Environmental related issues to the Operational site leadership team.

Pay: £49,365.68-£53,000.00 per year
