Full job description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes.

This position involves 12-hour shifts, covering both day and night work on a rota basis.

Weekday - £15

Week night - £15

Weekend - £17

Duties

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
Support individuals requiring PEG feeding, ensuring safe administration in line with care plans and training.
Provide care and monitoring for individuals living with epilepsy, including seizure management and accurate recording of incidents.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with specific needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring client safety at all times.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or care manager.
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or similar environments is highly desirable.
Experience or training in epilepsy care and seizure management is essential or willingness to undertake training.
Competency in PEG feeding or willingness to complete required clinical training.
Knowledge of patient care practices, including first aid and medication administration.
Experience in senior care, hospice care, or home care is advantageous.
Familiarity with Alzheimer’s and dementia care techniques is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
A valid driving licence is beneficial for transporting clients when necessary.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and engage in physical activities as required by the role.
A caring attitude towards individuals of all ages, including children if applicable.

Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
