Purpose of the Role
To take full ownership of the physical and digital management of our production materials. You will be the "guardian" of the stock, ensuring that all printing substrates are organised, accounted for, and delivered to the correct production departments on time. This is a hands-on role that requires high organisation and proactive communication to ensure 100% job accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Physical Stock Management: Organise and maintain all stock areas, ensuring materials are stored safely, logically, and are easily accessible.
- Internal Distribution: Proactively pick and deliver specific materials needed for each job to the relevant production departments (Print, Finishing, etc.).
- Departmental Alignment: Liaise daily with the Studio and Client Services teams to verify material requirements for upcoming projects and ensure stock matches job specifications.
- Stock Integrity & Reporting: Conduct regular physical stock counts (weekly/monthly). Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between the system and the physical stock
- Goods-In Handling: Receive deliveries, check items against delivery notes for accuracy/damage, and ensure they are put away in correct locations immediately.
- Waste & Quality Control: Monitor material usage, report on scraps or damaged goods, and ensure safe storage of materials.
- H&S Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and hazard-free warehouse environment.
The Ideal Candidate
Skills & Experience:
- Experienced: Previous experience in a high-volume stock environment (Printing, Manufacturing, or Distribution preferred).
- Technical Proficiency: Strong experience using stock management systems and Advanced Excel (data analysis and reporting).
- Analytical Mindset: Strong numerical skills with high attention to detail (able to spot subtle differences between similar substrates).
- Physically Active: This is a hands-on role that involves moving materials and being on the warehouse floor for most of the day.
