Full job description

About the role

At Autocharge UK, we supply and distribute turbochargers, alternators, and starter motors to customers across the UK from our warehouse in Leeds. We're looking for a careful, methodical person to join our team carrying out quality control checks on turbochargers, alternators, and starters as they move through our warehouse — making sure every unit that goes out the door meets the standard our customers expect.

You don't need previous experience in the automotive parts trade — full training is given. What matters most is a steady hand and a genuine eye for detail early on — and the drive to become a fully competent, efficient QC checker as you settle into the role. This suits people with years of hands-on experience in any trade or hobby — mechanics, engineering, maintenance, model-making, or simply a lifetime of working carefully with tools.

What you'll be doing

Carrying out quality control checks on incoming and outgoing turbochargers, alternators, and starter motors
Checking components and finished units against build specifications and visual/functional standards
Inspecting stock for damage, missing parts, or inconsistencies before it's put away or dispatched
Using hand tools and measuring equipment accurately to verify units meet spec
Keeping clear, accurate QC and inspection records
Working alongside a small, supportive warehouse team who take pride in getting it right first time
Keeping your workspace clean and organised (5S/lean principles)

What we're looking for

Essential:

Confident using basic hand tools and measuring equipment
A careful, methodical approach when learning the role, with the ability to build up to a confident, steady pace once you're trained
Able to follow detailed processes and instructions consistently
Reliable, steady, and comfortable working as part of a team

Desirable (not required):

Any background in mechanical, automotive, or engineering work
Experience with quality control, inspection, or testing processes
An eye that naturally spots when something isn't quite right

Full training on all equipment and processes — no assumptions made about prior turbo or automotive parts knowledge
You will be given the time to learn the job right, with pace building naturally as your confidence and skills grow — as with any warehouse/QC role, we do need employees to reach a good working pace once fully trained, but we'll never expect that from day one
Steady Monday–Friday hours (08:30–17:30), with flexible/part-time options available
On-site parking
12-month contract with a genuine possibility of a permanent role

Location: Leeds LS12 — must be able to commute or relocate
