Overview
We are seeking a hard working and reliable Weigh Bridge Operator to join our team at our new animal feed manufacturing site in Wakefield . The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately weighing and recording goods, ensuring compliance with transportation and warehouse management standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic supply chain environment, utilising advanced systems and tools to optimise operations. Prior experience in warehouse or logistics environments, along with familiarity with weighbridge systems, is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the weighbridge system accurately and efficiently.
- Record vehicle weights and process relevant documentation for incoming and outgoing loads.
- Verify load information and ensure all paperwork is completed correctly.
- Issue weighbridge tickets, delivery notes, and associated documentation.
- Maintain accurate electronic and manual records of site movements.
- Liaise with drivers, customers, suppliers, and site personnel regarding deliveries and collections.
- Monitor vehicle movements to ensure compliance with site procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Report discrepancies, irregularities, or potential compliance issues to management.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to email enquiries professionally.
- Assist with general administrative duties including filing, data entry, and report preparation.
- Ensure the weighbridge office remains clean organised and secure.
- Adhere to company policies, environmental regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Sampling and labelling of outgoing products
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in an administrative, logistics, transport, or operational environment.
- Strong numerical and data-entry skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong organisational skills.
Desirable
- Previous weighbridge experience.
- Experience using weighbridge, transport, or stock management software.
- Knowledge of waste management, recycling, quarrying, aggregates, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
- Understanding of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of FEMAS and Red Tractor requirements

Pay: £14.00-£21.00 per hour
