Director of Leasehold Services
Location: National / Home-based (with travel)
Salary: circa £100,000 + car allowance
Lead the transformation of one of the UK’s largest leasehold portfolios.
Anchor is creating a brand-new leadership role to redefine how leasehold services are delivered across the organisation. If you are an experienced leasehold leader with the credibility to drive change at scale, this is a rare opportunity to shape a national function, rebuild trust with residents, and set a new standard for leasehold services in the sector.
The opportunity
This is not a “business as usual” role.
Following a previous move to integrate leasehold and rented services, we’ve recognised the need to reintroduce specialist expertise, improve service delivery and rebuild leaseholder confidence.
As Director of Leasehold Services, you will lead a full transformation of our leasehold offer, creating a modern, transparent and high-performing operating model that works for both residents and the organisation.
You will take responsibility for a c.13,000-home portfolio, one of the largest leasehold portfolios in the UK, giving you genuine scale, influence and visibility.
What you’ll do
You’ll act as the single point of accountability for leasehold services, bringing together teams across housing, finance, legal and asset management.
Your focus will be to:
- Design and implement a new leasehold operating model, moving from fragmented delivery to a clear, consistent service
- Build and lead a specialist Leasehold Services function with strong technical capability
- Rebuild trust with leaseholders, improving communication, engagement and transparency
- Deliver meaningful improvements in service quality, complaints performance and resident satisfaction
- Work with asset, finance and legal teams to ensure clear, credible information on charges, investment and responsibilities
- Lead delivery of our Home Ownership Strategy and wider transformation programme
This is a role where success depends on both strategic leadership and your ability to influence across a complex organisation.
What success looks like
In your first 12–18 months, you will:
- Establish credibility with leaseholders and key internal stakeholders
- Deliver early, visible improvements on the issues that matter most to residents
- Put in place a clear, scalable operating model for leasehold delivery
- Build a high-performing specialist team
- Create a long-term vision for a sustainable, transparent and trusted leasehold service
About you
We’re looking for a credible, experienced leader who brings both deep leasehold expertise and a track record of delivering change.
You’ll have:
- A demonstrable track record of leading leasehold or homeownership services at scale
- Experience of driving service transformation in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment
- Understanding of leasehold complexity, including service charges, major works and legal frameworks
- Ability to improve customer confidence and satisfaction, particularly in challenging environments
- Stakeholder leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior colleagues and engage residents effectively
- A collaborative, resilient leadership style with the energy and drive to lead change
- Experience in older persons housing is desirable, but not essential.
Why join Anchor?
- Shape a new function at Director level with real autonomy
- Lead one of the largest and most complex leasehold portfolios in the sector
- Deliver change that will have a direct, lasting impact on residents’ lives
- Be part of an organisation with a clear social purpose and national reach
Location
- Home-based, national role
- Regular travel required, including to sites, schemes and our London and Bradford offices.
Ready to make an impact?
This is a unique opportunity to reset leasehold services at scale. If you’re motivated by complex challenges, meaningful impact, and the chance to leave a lasting legacy, we’d love to hear from you.
