Do you want to develop your career and take the next step and train to be a registered Pharmacy Technician?
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust to complete the Pharmacy Technician (integrated) Level 3 qualification. The course will take place over a two year period where you will attend college whilst supporting your knowledge through work based learning and assessments.
As a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) your duties will be varied and will involve contributing to the delivery of our busy pharmacy services across Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust whilst completing the requirements to meet the apprenticeship standard.
On completion of the apprenticeship, you will be required to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
The salary for this training post is 70% of the top of a Band 4 pay band year 1 and then 75% of the top of a Band 4 pay band Year 2. (Annex 21/U). For existing NHS staff pay preservation is available (Annex 30). This can be discussed further at interview.
This will include working in our hospital in-patient and outpatient pharmacies, dispensing prescriptions and issuing prescribed items, contributing to all aspects of pharmaceutical stock control. You will gain experience working on the hospital inpatient wards, delivering pharmacy ward-based services including taking patient medication histories and educating patients on their medicines. There will also be placements with our QA and Technical Services teams, and Medicines Information and Clinical Trials teams to provide you with experience across all the pharmacy services on offer in the Trust.
This is a rewarding and challenging role where you will need to demonstrate that you are organised and self-motivated to manage working and studying to complete the training programme.
You will need to demonstrate that you have excellent communication skills and are prepared to work with the different teams. This will require you to have a flexible approach, good attention to detail, and be a proactive learner, who can meet multiple deadlines, but most importantly, having a professional attitude and patient centred approach is essential.
As the training course fees are paid for from the government funded apprenticeship scheme, please note that some qualifications you currently hold may render you ineligible to apply for this post, as funding is dependent on previous qualifications. If you do not hold the required qualifications or already hold a degree in a closely related subject for the post that you have applied for, unfortunately you will not be eligible for this apprenticeship and you will not be shortlisted.
Please see attached for the job description document for this post for further details in regards to the main responsibilities of the role.
