Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our small team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food and hospitality to gain valuable experience in a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will support the kitchen operations, assist with meal preparation, and ensure food safety standards are maintained. Prior catering, cooking, or restaurant experience is essential. You must have worked with food before.

Duties

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and ensuring timely delivery of dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment
Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers
Help with serving food to customers or guests as required
Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and replenishing supplies
Support the team during busy periods by performing various kitchen tasks as directed by senior staff

Skills

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is essential
Strong understanding of food preparation and safety standards in kitchen environments
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Willingness to learn new culinary techniques and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen setting
