Full job description

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Senior to manage a portfolio of payroll clients from start to finish, including a variety of workplace pension schemes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, the ability to work independently under pressure, and excellent communication abilities.

This role involves liaising with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), setting up new payroll clients, and handling advanced payroll tasks such as pension schemes and PAYE scheme closures.

What You’ll Do:

Manage your own portfolio of payroll clients from start to finish, including workplace pension schemes
Process BACS payments for clients
Liaise with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC)
Set up new payroll clients
Perform advanced payroll tasks, including:
Setting up pension schemes
PAYE scheme closures
Payroll analysis
Communicate with managers and team members regarding payroll queries and reporting
Assist in training and development of Payroll Administrators
Handle employee payroll-related enquiries
Liaise directly with clients via email and telephone
Train payroll administrators when required

Additional Responsibilities:

Maintain files, records, and departmental databases
Handle ad hoc queries and requests
Perform analysis tasks using spreadsheets and Word documents
Support team development initiatives
Assist managers and team members with organisational tasks
Provide recommendations to management on client payroll processes and procedures
