PebbleHost is looking for individuals with experience of server management, configuration and building to join our team.
Your role as a Data center technician will primarily be based around assisting our customers with their dedicated and game servers.
When on shift, your key responsibilities are:
- Deployment and racking of servers
- Providing billing and technical support to assist customers
- Debugging software and hardware issues
- Tracking and processing new stock deployment
- Performing regular hardware health checks and diagnostics
- Monitoring infrastructure alerts and responding to incidents promptly
- Coordinating with remote teams for escalations or deeper technical issues
- Managing network patching and cable organization
- Documenting configuration changes and maintenance tasks
- Assisting with OS reinstallation and recovery procedures
- Replacing or upgrading failed or aging hardware components
- Ensuring data center cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols
- Verifying hardware inventory against asset tracking systems
- Supporting setup and maintenance of KVM/IPMI access
- Conducting routine power and environmental audits (e.g., checking PDU loads, airflow, temperature)
- Assisting with secure data destruction and drive wiping procedures
Hours & Salary
The position is a full time position with the following hours available:
Sunday -> Thursday
10AM -> 6PM
The position is paid hourly based on the type of work, which ranges from £15.15/hr to £17.42/hr. Additional automatic yearly increases of 5% per year up to 3 years - resulting in £17.42/hr to £20.03/hr including bonuses.
Job Requirements
- You must be able to travel onsite to our Coventry (CV4) datacentre on a daily basis
- Perfect Written English
- Experience with Linux
- Strong communication skills
- Basic experience working in IT / a similar role
Desired Qualifications:
- Above average technical abilities
- Prior experience in a data center environment
- Ability to independently problem solve
- Above average knowledge with Rocky Linux (or other RHEL based distributions)
- Knowledge in PHP & Java
- Extensive knowledge within Minecraft and other related source games
- Knowledge of building a PC / server

Pay: £31,512.00-£41,662.40 per year
