We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our Mental Health team at HMP Fosse Way, a category C Prison located in Glen Parva.

HMP Fosse Way is a busy male ressetlement prison. This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. We are recruiting for an Assistant Psychologist that has at least two years experience as an Assistant Psychologist within a secure or forensic setting.

Hours

Monday - Friday

0800 - 1600 or 0830 - 1630

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary of £31,000 per annum.

What you'll be doing

As a Assistant Psychologist, your responsibilities will vary. You will

To support and enhance the professional psychological care of patients within the service/ team, across all pathways, providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions.
Identify patients who may benefit from psychological intervention, following mental health triages and in discussion with the multi-disciplinary team and, where demand exceeds capacity, prioritise according to clinical need, risk presentation and release planning in line with agreed service policy and under the guidance of the qualified psychologist.

2 years Assistant Psychology experience.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology
Evidence of foundation training in at least one evidence-based psychological framework i.e. CFT, CBT, DBT, ACT.
Experience of working with mental health forensic populations
Experience of providing evidence based psychological interventions to adults with a range of mental health problems.
