Why This Role Exists
Following the successful sale of his previous business, our Founder is building Evergreen from the ground up.
As the business grows, there are increasing numbers of projects, systems, clients, opportunities and moving parts that need organising, tracking and progressing.
This role exists to create the operational structure, financial visibility and execution discipline needed to scale properly.
This is a hands-on operations and finance role with real responsibility, significant exposure to business building, and a clear pathway into senior leadership as Evergreen grows.
You will work directly with an experienced founder, gain exposure to multiple businesses and industries, and help build something meaningful from the beginning.
What You Will Own
- Business operations – meeting preparation, action tracking, project coordination and operational support.
- Evergreen finance administration – Xero, Dext, invoicing, credit control, reconciliations and reporting.
- Financial visibility – cashflow tracking, KPI reporting and management information.
- AI-enabled workflows – using tools such as ChatGPT and automation platforms to improve efficiency and execution.
- Systems and process improvement – CRM management, workflow documentation and operational controls.
- Client onboarding and governance support.
- Project coordination and implementation support – ensuring priorities move forward and actions are completed.
- The operational systems Evergreen will scale upon.
Finance and Operations at the Core
This role sits at the meeting point of operations and finance. You do not need to be an accountant, but you must be genuinely comfortable with numbers – able to read a P&L, manage debtors, keep the books current and turn financial data into something management can act upon. AAT Level 3 or 4 (or working towards it) is a strong advantage.

Growth and Upside
This is a foundational hire. Get it right and the role grows with the business toward Head of Operations or Finance & Operations Hub Manager. There is a performance-related bonus linked to clear operational and financial outcomes, and a genuine seat close to the founder, gaining mentorship and learning how businesses are built, scaled and run.
The Details
- Salary: £32,000 – £42,000 depending on experience, capability, and commercial and financial competence.
- Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00.
- Location: Derby office with hybrid flexibility. Regular office attendance will be expected.
- Reports to: Founder / Managing Director.

- Evergreen's finances are organised and up to date.
- Reporting is accurate, consistent and trusted.
- Projects move forward without constant founder involvement.
- Systems and processes are documented and improving.
- Client onboarding and governance processes are running smoothly.
- The Founder has more time to focus on growth rather than administration.
