Dear Albert is a progressive, dynamic social enterprise established 2014 by people in long term recovery who wished to support others who were also wanting to move away from active addiction.
We know all about the difficulties of addiction and the challenges of recovery from our own and families experiences, the experiences of our Service Users and through our focus on continuous professional development, on-going training, and a desire to be ‘more professional than the professionals’.
We understand how difficult taking those first steps towards personal discovery and recovery can be. Dear Albert acts to ensure that when people do take those first tentative steps towards asking for help, the right kind of high quality assistance is waiting for them, remains available and is on-going.

DA offers a holistic range of structured & open access services based on the principles of peer support, mutual aid and professionally delivered/facilitated evidence based interventions. Dear Albert works with individuals, community groups, a wide range of stakeholders & other Providers to achieve our mission: ‘to build sustainable recovery communities that become support networks for those seeking recovery from substance use’.
The Stairway Project is Dear Albert's community rehabilitation centre in Leicester City, from here, we deliver our diverse range of community based rehabilitation interventions, groups, peer support and counseling.
We are now seeking to recruit a driven individual, with a proven track record of achieving results, for our Administration and Production post.,
You will be supported by a motivated and competent Team, who will want you to succeed in helping the Stairway Project to capture our high quality outcomes and increase digital production outputs.
Job Purpose
The job purpose is to provide comprehensive administrative support for the company. This involves managing various systems and processes, including financial and group attendance data entry, alongside robust record-keeping and data analysis. As such, the role plays a crucial part in ensuring smooth and effective administrative operations throughout the organisation.
You will help ensure all administrative systems are effective, electronic filing systems are well-maintained, and key documentation is readily available for reporting requirements.
Support the company's social media messaging campaigns and contribute to our internal screen notices and other messaging.
Contribute to keeping our google drive operating in an orderly fashion; updating materials
You will be working within a supportive and diverse team of staff, both paid and voluntary, who have lived experience of recovery and are dedicated and passionate about sharing the message that we do recover, alongside establishing a professional and boundaried approach to our work and contractual commitments.
The work will involve close collaboration with the Business Administrator and the wider team.
You will play a role in organising building and promoting accessible, visible & inspirational recovery communities locally and nationally.
The post holder will uphold the values of Dear Albert at all times, be an inspiration to others and deliver evidence based interventions.
Other Key responsibilities
- To provide a warm and welcoming response to individuals, service users and other professionals either visiting, or phoning, the service if covering Meet and Greet.
- To act as an ambassador for Dear Albert and the Recovery community.
- To ensure the health and safety of all yourself, other staff and service users by following health, safety and security procedures in the working environment.
- To ensure that any safeguarding concerns are communicated immediately to your supervisor or other senior members of the Dear Albert team

Key Duties
- Maintain accurate records and databases, recording referrals and attendances within the service.
- Ensure that administration systems supporting the effective running of the organisation are implemented and adhered to.
- Manage systems & processes for the financial management of the organisation, including petty cash.
- Implement and manage robust systems of data and activity recording for analysis.
- Ensure that all electronic filing systems are fit for purpose and that all key documentation is available on request.
- Support group work sessions by ensuring materials are available within the service.
- Ensure all electronic filing systems related to production content are fit for purpose and easily accessible.
- Implement and manage robust systems of data and activity recording and analysis relevant to production.
- Prepare and provide necessary materials for broadcasting sessions.
- Contribute to promoting Dear Albert's services and recovery within the community through digital content
Person specification
Essential
- Educated to GCSE standard in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Suitable administrative qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Good track record of reliability.
Desirable
- Qualifications in business, management and/or accounting
Knowledge & Skills
Essential
- Good knowledge in Computer literacy & IT: primarily word-processing, spreadsheets and communication tools/applications.
- Suitable knowledge in Google Drive (Workspace) environment, its applications and an understanding of cloud-based file storage (or equivalent workspace such as Microsoft 365).
- Interpersonal and communication skills.

Working requirements
This is a weekday-only role (Monday to Friday). We offer flexible daytime hours that can be mutually agreed upon ahead of time to comfortably accommodate school schedules and family commitments
