A position has arisen in our busy and vibrant Art and Design department for a Supervisor Technician.
Applicants will need to be skilled in all aspects of textiles for this specialist role. However, the ability to support general Art and Design workshops, where visual communication and art skills are delivered, would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will provide technical support for textiles teachers and students, while also maintaining equipment. They will be responsible for maintaining textiles stock levels, as well as raising purchase orders. The postholder will also ensure that all users of machinery and equipment operate in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
They will be part of a wider supervision team responsible for supporting shows, exhibitions, and the general marketing of the department.
The postholder will be sufficiently knowledgeable to supervise student-directed study sessions and, in doing so, will contribute to the development of the College’s exciting and successful provision within the Visual and Creative Arts.
There may be an opportunity for overtime on this post as and when required.
