Full job description

Are you passionate about good food, great service, and supporting local business? We’re a small, independent shop with a loyal customer base and a reputation for top-quality meats and great service —and we’re looking for a full time Counter Assistant to join us in August as we continue our exciting journey.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Welcoming customers and offering knowledgeable, personal service
Assisting with the sale of fresh meats, and other products
Preparing and packaging orders with care and attention to detail
Keeping the shop clean, tidy, and beautifully presented
Supporting the team with stock rotation and replenishing stock
Handling payments and the keeping the counter area looking tip-top

What We’re Looking For:

A warm, approachable personality and a genuine passion for good food
Confidence in customer service and basic retail skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Willingness to learn about our products and share that knowledge
Reliability, punctuality, and pride in your work
Previous experience in food retail or butchery is a bonus—but heart and hustle matter most

Min hours: 30hours

Availability: This is a full time position initially working any 4/5 days out of 7 so not suitable for students

Weekend working is essential on a rota basis.

Start date: 4th August 2026

Pay: £10.00-£12.71 per hour
