Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable General Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team. This role involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to food safety standards. Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food presentation according to established recipes and standards
Support the culinary team in cooking and plating dishes
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in line with food safety regulations
Help with food storage and organisation of ingredients to ensure freshness and safety
Serve meals to customers or staff in a courteous and efficient manner
Ensure the kitchen area is organised, hygienic, and well-stocked at all times
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
Support with inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed

Skills

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is preferred
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and meal assembly
Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and kitchen operations
