Location: Leiston, Suffolk (5 days onsite)

Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 per annum + benefits

About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the Site Establishment team at Sizewell C one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects. You’ll support the early delivery of key infrastructure, including roads, rail, utilities, buildings, and security systems .
Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of work packages, covering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning, helping shape the infrastructure that enables the main site.
Key Responsibilities
Define and manage the scope of work and its interfaces within the wider programme
Secure and manage resources, ensuring Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) standards are upheld
Develop and implement delivery strategies aligned with the Project Execution Plan (PEP)
Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
Drive safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of works
Monitor progress against milestones, budgets, and deadlines
Identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues as needed
Ensure consistency across Level 1–3 schedules and review contractor rolling plans
Deliver against the List of Deliverables (LOD) and apply Earned Value Management (EVM)
Interface with other programmes to ensure alignment and adoption of best practices
Fulfil all contractual obligations and maintain strong working relationships across teams
Promote continuous improvement and ensure lessons learned are captured and shared
Project Scope & Dimensions
Manage contracts valued between £250k and £150m
Lead a team of up to 3-4 Assistant Project Managers, plus a matrix team including commercial, procurement, construction management, H&S, and environmental specialists
Coordinate with up to 200 contractor staff and multiple external stakeholders
Deliver infrastructure including commercial buildings, roads, hardstanding, and utilities
On-Site Responsibilities
Lead and manage on-site project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project objectives and milestones
Oversee contractor and subcontractor activities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth delivery
Operate in a fast-paced, high-profile environment with multiple stakeholders and interfaces
What You'll Bring
Proven experience as a Project Manager in large-scale infrastructure or commercial build projects
Experience managing complex projects valued at £15 million+
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges
Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in the energy or construction sector
Experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts and multi-programme construction environments
Familiarity with Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and innovative delivery approaches
Ability to manage delivery in a dynamic, high-pressure setting with multiple interfaces
Experience in contractor management and delivery of associated structures
Qualifications & Experience
Degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, physics, or a related field
Strong background in general construction, ideally with a civil engineering specialism in commercial buildings and road/hardstanding construction
Good knowledge of CDM Regulations
Practitioner-level understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. APM, Prince2)
Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
Experience in PWR design and operations (desirable)
Proficiency in MS Office, Primavera P6, and SZC systems such as Integrated Management System and Teamcenter (training provided)
Familiarity with CEMAR contract management system is essential
Professional memberships such as MAPM, RPP, MCIOB, or RICS are desirable (or working towards)
