About the role
Be part of a once-in-a-generation infrastructure project that will help power 6 million homes with clean, reliable energy for decades to come.
Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station is a landmark development on the Suffolk coast, delivering a 3.2GW nuclear power station that will play a critical role in the UK’s low-carbon future.
The project is delivered through the Civil Works Alliance — a unique partnership between Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke — combining world-class expertise from major global infrastructure programmes.
Within this, the Geotechnical Sub Alliance (GSA) is responsible for delivering complex ground engineering works, including piling, ground improvement and diaphragm walls, from January 2026 to mid-2028.
As a Logistics Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in keeping this major operation running smoothly — ensuring materials, equipment and people are in the right place, at the right time, every day.
This is a site-based support role within the GSA logistics function, working closely with the Logistics Manager, site teams and the wider Alliance to deliver safe, efficient and well-coordinated operations.
What you'll be doing
As a Logistics Assistant, you’ll play a central role in supporting the successful delivery of the geotechnical works at Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station. Working closely with the Logistics Manager, site teams and Alliance partners, you’ll help plan, coordinate and control the flow of materials, equipment and people across site.
You’ll be responsible for managing delivery bookings, routing vehicles to the correct locations, and arranging suitable storage areas to maintain safe and efficient operations. Through regular liaison with suppliers, drivers and access control teams, you’ll ensure that deliveries arrive on time and in line with site requirements.
You’ll maintain accurate records and documentation, attend logistics and planning meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of improved workflows and digital tracking systems. By monitoring delivery performance and identifying potential issues early, you’ll help keep the programme running smoothly.
Throughout everything you do, you’ll promote a strong safety-first culture, ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards and maintain well-organised records to support audits and inspections. You’ll also handle operational and personal data responsibly in line with GDPR and company procedures.
Who we're looking for
We’re looking for a motivated, organised and reliable individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment and takes pride in keeping operations running efficiently.
You’ll ideally have experience in logistics coordination or site support within construction or infrastructure projects, along with strong communication and organisational skills. You’ll be confident working with site teams, suppliers and external partners and able to manage multiple priorities calmly and effectively.
You’ll be comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook, and have experience working with delivery or logistics tracking systems. An understanding of delivery scheduling, access planning and site logistics workflows will help you succeed in the role, while familiarity with lift planning software would be an advantage.
Most importantly, you’ll bring a collaborative mindset, a strong commitment to safety and quality, and a genuine interest in contributing to a major project delivered by Balfour Beatty that will leave a lasting national legacy.
