Full job description

This Role

Some people do IT as a job. Others can't help themselves—they've been into technology since before it was a career choice. We're looking for the second type. Genuine curiosity isn't a nice-to-have here, it's the difference between someone who's good at this work and someone who isn't.

The Work

OneTek is a systems integration company. We connect things that don't talk to each other—legacy factory equipment to modern systems, estate-wide CCTV networks, business infrastructure that actually works.

For 17 years we've taken on projects other providers won't touch. Industrial sites, public spaces, environments where "it's complicated" is the starting point, not the excuse.

This role is hands-on. You'll install, configure, and support the systems our customers depend on. You'll work directly with experienced engineers on real problems—not ticket queues and password resets.

What You'll Do

Install – Cabling, networks, CCTV, servers, phone systems, wireless

Configure – Windows Server, Microsoft 365, backups, monitoring

Support – Troubleshooting, customer training, getting things working

Learn – Manufacturing, industrial estates, commercial environments—real variety

What Matters

Essential:

- Full UK driving licence—you'll be on the road daily, this is non-negotiable

- Genuine curiosity about technology—this isn't a box to tick, it's the whole point

- Some IT experience or a relevant qualification

- Reliability—show up on time, finish the job properly

- Comfortable in industrial environments and working at height

- Right to work in the UK

Useful but not required:

- Cabling, CCTV, or networking experience

- Microsoft 365 or Windows Server exposure

- Hands-on installation background

If you're the type who figures things out rather than waiting to be told, you'll fit.
