Join our friendly team at Firle Estate and help maintain the exceptionally high standards expected across our historic estate, guest accommodation and visitor facilities.
We are looking for an experienced Cleaner & Accommodation Assistant who takes genuine pride in their work and enjoys creating clean, welcoming and beautifully presented environments for guests and visitors. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are quite the same, combining housekeeping, accommodation preparation and supporting the smooth day to day running of our accommodation.
Working within one of Sussex’s most beautiful historic estates, you’ll play an important role in ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional experience from the moment they arrive.
Working Pattern
Tuesday: 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Wednesday: 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
Friday: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
A 30 minute unpaid break is included on shifts over six hours.
Some flexibility will occasionally be required to support weddings, estate events and operational requirements.
Please note: Due to the rural location of Firle Estate and limited public transport, applicants must be able to travel independently to and from the Estate.
The Role Includes
- Cleaning and preparing guest accommodation and visitor facilities.
- Supporting accommodation changeovers, including stripping beds and preparing rooms for new arrivals.
- Laundry and linen management.
- Maintaining exceptionally high presentation standards throughout the estate.
- Monitoring and replenishing cleaning supplies.
- Reporting maintenance issues and defects.
- Providing occasional support to the Accommodation Host during busy periods.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Has previous professional cleaning or housekeeping experience.
- Takes genuine pride in delivering exceptionally high standards.
- Has excellent attention to detail.
- Is reliable, organised and self motivated.
- Enjoys working independently as well as part of a small, friendly team.
- Enjoys creating welcoming environments for guests and visitors.
Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:
- Hotels and hospitality.
- Guest accommodation and holiday lets.
- Historic houses and heritage properties.
- Country estates.
- Wedding venues and visitor attractions.
