We have a big year planned for growth and we have a new and exciting opportunity within our ABS Training Academy team as a Trainer.
Our Role
ABS Training Academy is our already successful and Award Winning training department that has significant growth plans. The overall purpose of the role is to deliver high-quality Utilities Training both in-house and to external clients across multiple utility sectors. The Utilities Trainer will provide legislative, safety, compliance and best practice training to ensure delegates gain the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to work safely and compliantly within the Utilities industry. Other role responsibilities include:
- Delivering accredited and non-accredited training courses including EUSR, SHEA, Manual Handling, First Aid, Face Fit Testing, City & Guilds and other industry-specific training programmes.
- Playing an active role in developing and improving ABS Commercial Solutions Ltd.’s training portfolio and maintaining excellent relationships with clients through professional and engaging training delivery.
- Deliver Utilities training courses to internal staff and external clients across various utility sectors including Water, Gas, Electric, Telecoms and Civils.
- Deliver both accredited and non-accredited training programmes including, EUSR, SHEA, Manual Handling, First Aid, Face Fit Testing, City & Guilds and Health & Safety Awareness
- Provide coaching and mentoring
- Carry out practical and classroom-based assessments where required.
- Maintain accurate training records, delegate feedback and certification documentation.
- Support clients with operational guidance, auditing support and best practice improvement initiatives where required.
- Conduct occasional site visits, audits and compliance inspections to support operational teams and clients.
- Build strong working relationships with clients
- Support business growth of the business
Ideal Candidate
This role is fast paced and busy and we require someone who is very hands on and likes to think outside of the box. Our ideal candidate will be required to hit the ground running delivering training in a matter of weeks. Due to nature of our business we require someone who has been working in a similar role. We are also ideally looking for:
- Strong background in Experience working across multiple utility sectors such as Water, Gas, Electric, Telecoms or Civils.
- Strong knowledge of Utilities industry legislation, health & safety standards and best practice requirements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with both operational staff and management teams.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- NRSWA Accreditation, would be of an advantage
The successful candidate should also ideally possess either recognised training accreditation or significant operational experience within the Utilities sector. Hold one or more recognised training or industry accreditation such as:
- EUSR
- SHEA
- City & Guilds
- First Aid Instructor
- Manual Handling Instructor
- Face Fit Testing
- Train the Trainer qualification
