At Curtis Law Solicitors, we are proud to be one of the North West’s established and growing law firms, with offices in Blackburn and South Manchester and a strong focus on client care, professional development and career progression. We are now looking for a talented Family Law Solicitor to join our forward-thinking team in Blackburn.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive to manage a privately funded family law caseload from instruction through to completion. You will work on a broad range of matters while helping to grow the department through excellent client service, strong local relationships and a proactive approach to business development.

What You’ll Be Doing

· Provide clear, practical and accurate family law advice to clients.

· Manage private family law matters from initial enquiry through to conclusion.

· Build strong client and referrer relationships and help convert enquiries into new business.

· Handle a privately funded caseload covering divorce, finances, separation, injunctions, civil partnerships, cohabitation disputes, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, and Children Act matters.

· Respond professionally to new enquiries and support clients throughout their journey.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Good IT skills and confidence using case management systems.

· Advocacy skills are an advantage, but not essential.

· Experience across family law matters such as divorce, children, mediation, financial matters, collaborative law and domestic violence.

· Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.

· Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with approximately 3–6 years’ PQE.

· A law degree or equivalent qualification.

Desirable

· Children Panel membership, or a willingness to work towards it, would be an advantage.

· Experience of Wills and Probate would be beneficial.
