About Us
AET Partners Ltd is a professional services firm based in London, with UK immigration advisory as its core practice area. The firm provides immigration, sponsor licence, Skilled Worker, family visa, settlement, naturalisation, business immigration, and compliance advisory services to both individual and corporate clients.
We are now looking to recruit a dedicated Immigration Paralegal to support our growing immigration casework team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional who wishes to develop practical experience in UK immigration law within a regulated and professional environment.
The Role
The Immigration Paralegal will provide operational and casework support across a wide range of immigration matters. The successful candidate will work directly under the supervision of the IAA-regulated Director and will assist with file preparation, client communication, document review, application drafting, and compliance support.
This role does not involve the independent provision of regulated immigration advice. All work will be carried out under appropriate supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing and organising immigration application files, including Skilled Worker visas, sponsor licence applications, family visas, settlement applications, and British citizenship matters.
Reviewing client documents to check completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Home Office evidential requirements.
Assisting with the completion of online UKVI application forms and related casework documents.
Preparing draft covering letters, legal representations, supporting narratives, and application bundles.
Creating structured indexes, exhibit schedules, and paginated evidence bundles for submission.
Monitoring case deadlines, visa expiry dates, submission windows, and follow-up requirements.
Maintaining accurate and audit-ready client records in electronic and physical formats.
Communicating with clients regarding document requests, case updates, and procedural requirements.
Supporting sponsor licence and Skilled Worker matters, including compliance evidence, right-to-work records, and internal audit documentation.
Assisting with internal file reviews and quality control checks before final review by the regulated adviser.
Liaising with translators, document authentication providers, medical examiners, and other third parties where required.
Supporting the development of internal templates, checklists, and workflows to improve casework efficiency.
Required Skills and Experience
A degree or equivalent qualification in law, international law, business law, legal studies, or a closely related subject.
A working understanding of UK immigration procedures, visa categories, Home Office requirements, and sponsorship processes.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines at the same time.
Strong attention to detail when reviewing documents, completing forms, and preparing submissions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Professional, clear, and empathetic client communication.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and confidence using online portals and electronic filing systems.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information responsibly.
Ability to work under supervision in a regulated legal environment.
Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
A high standard of professional integrity and conduct.
Desirable
Previous experience in immigration casework, legal administration, paralegal work, or Home Office application preparation.
Familiarity with Skilled Worker, sponsor licence, family visa, ILR, or naturalisation applications.
Postgraduate legal or immigration-related qualification.
