Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Carpenter and Joiner to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and joinery, providing a solid foundation for a career in the building industry. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced tradespeople, assisting with a range of tasks across different restoration projects. This paid apprenticeship is ideal for individuals eager to develop practical skills and gain industry recognised qualifications.
Duties
- Assist with fabrication and assembly of timber structures and components
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively
- Support the installation of roofing, joinery, and other carpentry elements on-site
- Participate in construction painting, masonry, plumbing, and electrical tasks as directed
- Perform heavy lifting to move materials and equipment around site
- Assist with site preparation, clean-up, and organisation of materials
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Contribute to the realisation of project specifications by supporting skilled tradespeople in their tasks
Qualifications
- No prior experience necessary; a keen interest in carpentry and joinery is essential
- Candidates are required to drive or have access to their own transport.
- Basic understanding of construction or related trades is advantageous but not required
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team
- Physical fitness suitable for manual labour tasks across multiple sites
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred but not essential; willingness to travel to various sites required
