Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking diligent and physically fit Precast Concrete Loaders to join our manufacturing team. This role involves the safe and efficient handling of precast concrete elements, ensuring they are loaded onto lorries accurately and securely. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, good mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with heavy lifting, hand tools, or construction-related skills will be advantageous. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in construction, masonry, or related trades to gain practical experience within a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

Safely load precast concrete components onto lorries using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment
Assist with the positioning and securing of concrete elements to prevent movement during transit
Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical aids to facilitate loading operations
Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency
Conduct routine inspections of equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition
Follow all health and safety regulations diligently during all tasks
Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines

Qualifications

Previous experience with heavy lifting, masonry, carpentry, or roofing is desirable but not essential
Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical systems preferred
Ability to operate machinery such as forklifts or cranes is advantageous but not mandatory; training may be provided
Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy loads safely
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Mechanical knowledge or experience with welding can be beneficial for certain tasks
Valid driving licence for commercial driving is a plus but not required for all roles
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and adhere to safety protocols

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £13.00-£16.00 per hour
