We are seeking an experienced and highly organised individual to join our Technical Operations team as a Senior Stock Controller and Data Processor on a Fixed Term Contract until 31st October 2027 to cover maternity leave. This role is essential for maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our stock control and data processes across the business.
The Role
Reporting to John Greed, Director, you will be the first point of call for the Data team, responsible for the day-to-day stock control and data processes within the business. This role requires a proactive approach to data management and strong collaboration with other departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Import and process raw data to create the necessary reports and reconciliations for internal use and 3rd parties, particularly focusing on stock control, marketing, and sales performance.
- Create new reports based on our internal requirements and available data sources.
- Manage, organise, and report on our stock takes.
- Maintain and update various internal databases using both internal and external data sources.
- Manage orders with suppliers, including placing and chasing orders, as well as reviewing, chasing, or cancelling backorders.
- Review and resolve delivery discrepancies, faulty stock, or required returns.
- Provide support to the Finance department with queries and reports as needed.
- Work closely with the Warehouse department to investigate and resolve stock issues.
- Collaborate with the Head of Sales and Marketing to provide insights and develop reports that enhance stock and sales performance.
Candidate Profile and Essential Requirements
We are looking for a punctual, honest, and trustworthy candidate with excellent decision-making and strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Data & IT: Strong data entry skills are essential, with proficiency in spreadsheets, particularly Excel and Google Sheets. A basic understanding of SQL databases is required.
- Communication: Effective communication skills are necessary, especially when liaising with external contacts and communicating clearly and confidently with people at any level.
- Work Ethic: You must demonstrate a proactive, positive approach with a ‘can do’ attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of urgency.
- Work Environment: Proven ability to work independently, manage a workload under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Location: This role can be worked efficiently and productively within a remote working environment, but requires adequate space for a secure home office setup, strong Wi-Fi connectivity, and a mobile phone. You must also be able to join face-to-face meetings or other visits to work premises when requested.
