Overview
We are seeking a motivated Bricklayers Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting skilled bricklayers and masons in various building projects, ensuring smooth workflow and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in construction work and a willingness to learn new skills within the trades. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in masonry, carpentry, roofing, and other related trades.
Responsibilities
- Assisting bricklayers and masons with preparing materials and setting up work sites
- Handling hand tools, power tools, and masonry equipment safely and efficiently
- Moving bricks, blocks, mortar, and other materials around the site
- Supporting with the mixing of mortar and concrete as required
- Assisting with the installation of bricks, blocks, or stonework under supervision
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to ensure safety standards are met
- Supporting with additional tasks such as carpentry or roofing work when needed
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations on site
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and masonry techniques is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is key
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour throughout the working day
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work as part of a team
- Prior experience in bricklaying, masonry, carpentry, roofing, or welding is advantageous but not mandatory
- Awareness of health and safety procedures relevant to construction sites
