About the Role
As a British Steel Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our production lines running safely, reliably, and efficiently. This is a dynamic, hands-on position where you'll be directly involved in maintaining critical plant infrastructure across our ironmaking and steelmaking facilities.
You’ll support a range of engineering activities, including:
- Project involvement, from design and technical submissions through to installation and commissioning of capital works.
- Plant performance and reliability improvements, identifying areas for enhancement and delivering practical solutions.
- Maintenance planning and execution – working closely with plant teams to ensure safe, cost-effective engineering support.
- Safety-first mindset, ensuring all activities align with our rigorous safety standards.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence how our sites operate and contribute to industry leading performance.
What We're Looking For
A qualified and experienced engineer, with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement in a fast-paced industrial setting.
You’ll bring:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Significant experience in a maintenance or reliability engineering role within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset – able to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive, safety-conscious approach to engineering and plant operations.
