Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage Services
Main Purpose of the Role
The Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage Services is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of designated areas within the business, ensuring exceptional customer service standards are consistently delivered.
The role involves leading and supporting the team, maintaining operational standards, supervising service delivery, and ensuring all staff adhere to company policies, procedures, and hospitality standards.
Ideal Candidate
This role would suit an experienced Team Leader, Supervisor, or Junior Assistant Manager with a strong background in hospitality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Service & Operations
- Deliver excellent food and beverage service in accordance with company standards.
- Ensure all team members follow established service procedures and operational guidelines.
- Support the smooth running of the Restaurant, Café, Lodge, and event operations.
- Organise and manage bookings, including the use of online booking systems and extranets.
- Assist management with the planning and delivery of special events and functions.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, motivate, and support team members during shifts.
- Ensure staff present themselves professionally and wear the correct uniform at all times.
- Monitor team performance and provide guidance where necessary.
- Organise staff break times effectively to maintain smooth service operations.
- Maintain awareness of staffing levels to help control labour costs and staff hours efficiently.
Stock & Cellar Management
- Monitor stock levels within the restaurant and cellar areas.
- Report stock requirements promptly and maintain effective stock control procedures.
- Minimise wastage and help prevent stock loss through careful management practices.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, hygiene, and cleanliness throughout all areas.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.
- Report maintenance, safety, or hygiene concerns to management immediately.
- Follow and communicate all relevant risk assessments and health & safety procedures to team members.
General Responsibilities
- Complete all daily checklists and operational duties accurately and conscientiously.
- Demonstrate initiative by identifying tasks and operational improvements proactively.
- Act as a positive ambassador for the company at all times.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct in line with the company handbook.
