STAINLESS POLISHER

5 Month Contract

Sept 2026 - Jan 2027

Lucid Creates are looking for an experienced Metal Polisher to join a fast-paced fabrication environment specialising in producing high-end public art installations. This project-based role will focus on polishing and finishing stainless steel components to a high, durable display standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Polishing and finishing stainless steel to a high standard
Using handheld tools and machinery to achieve required finishes
Ensuring all work meets high quality standard
Ensuring work flow is efficient and fabrication schedules are adhered to

EXPERIENCE

Proven experience polishing stainless steel in a fabrication or metalwork environment
Strong experience with finishing techniques (graining, linishing, mirror polishing)
Good attention to detail and ability to deliver high-end finishes
Experience dressing welds and prepping fabricated components
Experience working on bespoke or one-off projects
Site experience or installation knowledge

Highly organised and able to work flexibly, under pressure and to tight deadlines
Drive, enthusiasm and commitment

LOCATION / WORKING HOURS

Mon - Fri 08:00 - 18:00
Start Date - 7th Sept 2026 - Jan 2027
ME9 8QG Sittingbourne, Kent
This is a temporary project based role based in our studio in Sittingbourne, Kent
Our studio is only accessible by car

SALARY

£15 - £18 per hour depending on experience

Our expertise lies in 360 show design & creating experiences where audiences and artists collaborate, connect and converge through sound, light and visual language. We aim to push the boundaries of what’s possible within the physical spaces and environments people interact with and inhabit.

We design award-winning shows, structures, spaces and large-scale public art installations which encourage and enable community, sustainability and inclusivity. We have established a reputation for creating transformative, temporary environments that result in intensely memorable shared experiences.

Both a design & a fabrication studio - we fabricate all of our stages, structures and installations in-house, here in our studio in the UK. Holistic in our approach to design and creativity - we pride ourselves in our ability to deliver an all encompassing, end-to-end creative service from fabrication through to show direction and live operation. Designing from within our fully-equipped workshop, hand in hand with our highly-skilled team of expert makers, we continue to create environments that push the boundaries of art, engineering and technology.

Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
