Cafe Assistant

16+ hours per week

Working hours will vary during opening times 7am-7pm

This job opening is not suitable for applicants looking for summer work.

Hourly rates:

21 years & over £12.71

18-20 years £10.85

Since 1994, CHAT Coffee House & Newsagents has been an independent retailer in the Belfast City Hospital. We work closely with local suppliers to provide top quality coffee, delicious bakery and food-to-go for our NHS workers, patients and visitors.

At CHAT we take pride in setting high standards, valuing our customers and promoting equality, fairness and compassion.

What is the Role?

You will be delivering excellent customer service to our fantastic loyal & new customers
You will be making barista style coffees & drinks which we will provide full training & support
You will display & replenish all our delicious bakery products throughout the day
You will be using the Merry Chef ovens to reheat deli products
You will be trained in the kitchen cooking sausage rolls etc. for the hot food unit
You will be restocking products such as confectionery, crisps, soft drinks
You will be in a customer facing role handling cash & card transactions
You will be part of a small team working together to maintain a hygienically clean & well presented environment

Essential Requirements:

Over 18 years old
2 years' cafe/coffee shop experience

Skills & Qualities

Enjoys greeting & meeting customers
Enjoys being part of a small team
Mature, trustworthy & hardworking
Can work independently and use own initiative
Wants to deliver a really good experience for customers
A positive 'can do' attitude
