About Us

Collen Bros (Quarries) Ltd is a family-run business with a proud history of delivering high-quality products and services to the construction industry across the UK and Ireland. We are committed to excellence, safety, and teamwork in everything we do.

We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Quarry Excavator Operator to join our production team based at our quarry site in Tandragee.

The Role

You will operate heavy tracked excavators (typically 50-tonne+) to extract raw materials at the quarry face, feed processing machinery and perform tasks needed to provide future site development. This is a hands-on role requiring precision, efficiency, and an uncompromised commitment to site safety.

Key Responsibilities

Operate 360-degree excavators safely on active quarry faces, benches, and stockpiles.
Load and Feed: Load raw materials into dump trucks, or feed crushers, screeners, and hoppers
Site development: Including benching, grading, and maintaining clean hauling routes
Machine Maintenance: Reporting any mechanical defects or maintenance needs immediately
Safety Compliance: Follow strict health, safety, and environmental guidelines, reporting any hazards or defects

What We Are Looking For

Experience: Minimum 2 years operating large excavators in a quarry or heavy earthworks environment.
Qualifications: Excavator plant ticket desirable but not essential
Safety First: A strong track record of following strict workplace safety procedures
Skills: Basic mechanical knowledge for daily checks and strong situational awareness for site safety
Attributes: Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a close-knit team
