Overview
We are seeking a skilled Motor Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive technology and hands-on work, providing valuable experience in vehicle maintenance and repair within a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and other vehicle systems
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out assembly, repairs, and modifications
Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs and installations
Carry out equipment repair and maintenance tasks to ensure operational efficiency
Assist with vehicle assembly or disassembly as required for repair or refurbishment projects
Conduct heavy lifting of vehicle components safely and efficiently during repair procedures
Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each vehicle
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients

Qualifications

Proven experience in vehicle maintenance or mechanical repair is preferred
Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
Ability to perform equipment repair and routine maintenance tasks effectively
Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in various positions for extended periods
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Good communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive technology or mechanical engineering are advantageous
