Full job description

Here at Silas Cove, we’re seeking hard-working and reliable Kitchen Porters/Assistants to join our team at our coastal beach bar based in Portwrinkle, Cornwall!

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work quickly and collaboratively with others in a busy environment. As a Kitchen Porter/Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the kitchen team preparing dishes and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy.

Role & Responsibilities

Managing kitchen cleanliness and assisting the chef with food preparation.
Maintain equipment and kitchen tools, ensuring they are clean, functional, and safe for use.
Ensure high standards of hygiene, uniform and food hygiene and health and safety at all times.
Manage your time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods.
Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
Keep the food and supply storage areas organised and tidy.
Control waste management and recycling.
Providing essential support to the kitchen team.

Requirements

Strong teamworking skills and a calm, positive presence.
Driving License
Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
A desire to be part of the journey in developing and enhancing the business.
Proven experience working within the hospitality industry is preferred.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment, contributing to memorable dining experiences for our visitors!

Pay: £13.00 per hour
