Vulcan Interior & Fire Solutions Ltd is a leading passive fire protection contractor specialising in fire stopping, compartmentation and fire door works across the UK.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for experienced Fire Stoppers to join our expanding team on a self-employed (CIS) basis.
The successful candidates will initially be based on a 3-month project in Cardiff, with the opportunity for continued work on projects across the UK upon completion.
The Role
As a Fire Stopper, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality passive fire protection works across a variety of residential, student accommodation and commercial projects.
All work is completed in accordance with current fire safety legislation, third-party accreditation requirements and our internal quality assurance procedures.
Responsibilities
- Installation of fire stopping systems to service penetrations.
- Installation of batt and mastic systems.
- Installation of fire-rated compounds.
- Installation of fire collars and pipe wraps.
- Installation of linear joint seals and head-of-wall systems.
- Carrying out remedial fire stopping works.
- Reading and following manufacturers' tested details.
- Completing work to a high standard with excellent attention to detail.
- Recording completed works using our digital QA system (OneTrace).
- Working safely and professionally within occupied buildings.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in passive fire protection / fire stopping - NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection or equivalent.
- CSCS Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Own transport.
- Own hand tools.
- Excellent workmanship and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home during the working week when required.
Desirable
- Experience installing a wide range of fire stopping systems and products
- Knowledge of tested fire stopping details and manufacturer installation requirements.
