Full job description

Assistant Accountant

We are a manufacturer and distributor of filled bedding and associated products. With 80 years experience in our sector, we pride ourselves on innovation, quality and customer service.

Month end entries and reconciliations
Maintain accruals, prepayments and the fixed asset register
Inventory and production control account reconciliations, investigations and internal audits.
Variance analysis
Balance sheet reconciliations
Production of monthly management accounts and month end reporting
Assistance with year end accounts preparation and audit support
Payroll – accounts postings and analysis of payroll. Including end to end payroll processing for weekly payroll (for holiday cover)
Daily cash postings and reconciliation of bank statements
Involvement / with both sales and purchase ledger processing and reconciliations
Supplier payments

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Previous experience in a similar role
Experience of monthly management accounts
Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and year end processes
Experience of producing financial reports.
Analytical mindset and strong Excel skills
Experience of Sage Payroll, integrated ERP systems
Excellent communication and people skills, attention to detail
Well organised, hard working and flexible
