Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our kitchen, supporting with food preparation, and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.

Two Positions with Immediate Starts Available

1 Full Time - 30-40 hours per week over 4-5 days

1 Part Time -10 - 20 hours per week over 2 -3 days

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning & Hygiene:

Perform daily cleaning of kitchen equipment, surfaces, and floors to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Carry out weekly deep cleaning tasks, including ovens, fridges, extractor fans, and storage areas.
Wash and properly store all cooking utensils, dishes, glassware, and equipment.
Follow health and safety procedures and maintain hygiene standards in line with HACCP guidelines.

Food Preparation:

Assist chefs with basic food prep duties such as washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, and portioning ingredients.
Ensure all food preparation areas are kept clean and organised.
Help with the storage and labelling of food items in accordance with food safety standards.

Support Duties:

Dispose of kitchen waste responsibly and keep waste areas clean.
Receive and store deliveries correctly, checking for accuracy and freshness.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
Basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Good physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere.
