ARC Operator (Alarm Receiving Centre)
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off
Shift Times: 07:00–19:00 (Days) or 19:00–07:00 (Nights)
We are currently recruiting for both day and night shift positions.

About the Role
As an ARC Operator, you will play a vital role in protecting our clients' people, property and assets. Working within our Alarm Receiving Centre, you will monitor alarm and CCTV systems, assess incidents, and coordinate the appropriate response to ensure the safety and security of our customers.
This is a fast-paced and rewarding role that requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to alarm activations including intruder, fire, CCTV and panic alarms.
- Assess incidents and take appropriate action in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.
- Liaise with keyholders, emergency services and mobile response officers.
- Accurately record all events and actions taken within monitoring systems.
- Handle inbound and outbound telephone calls professionally and efficiently.
- Escalate incidents where required.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.
- Support the wider ARC team to ensure a high level of customer service at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Valid SIA Frontline Licence.
- Excellent communication and telephone skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
- Good IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
- Ability to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, including days or nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within an Alarm Receiving Centre, CCTV Control Room or similar environment.
- Knowledge of alarm systems and CCTV monitoring.
- Understanding of industry standards such as BS EN 50518 and BS 9518.
- Experience working within the security, emergency services or customer service sectors.
