Overview of role

Location: Liverpool, Merseyside

Salary: Competitive.
Hybrid Working: On average 2 days in the office per week (subject to business requirements)

We are looking for a talented Integration Developer to join our IS Grocery Service Centre team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and maintaining integration and interface solutions that support our wider application landscape. Your technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and collaborative approach will be essential in delivering high-quality software that meets the needs of the organisation.

As part of a central IS function, this is a varied and dynamic role requiring close collaboration with multiple Grocery Group support business units, both within and outside of IS.

The ideal candidate will have experience with integration, interfaces or ETL technologies, at least three years’ experience in an IT development environment, preferably hold ITIL accreditation, demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex issues, communicate clearly and engage effectively with stakeholders, and be self-motivated, able to meet tight deadlines, and driven to succeed.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated developer to contribute to critical systems and work across a broad range of stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Key Accountabilities

✔️ Integration Design: Design integration solutions that meet the organisation's needs, identify potential challenges, and propose appropriate solutions.

✔️ Development and Coding: Develop and maintain integration solutions using a variety of programming languages, APIs, and tools.

✔️ Technical Design: Contribute to the technical design and architecture of software applications.

✔️ API Development: Create and maintain APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that enable seamless communication between different software applications.

✔️ Bug Fixing and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to integrations, such as data discrepancies, performance bottlenecks, and communication errors.

✔️ Data Mapping and Transformation: Perform data mapping and transformation between various systems to ensure accurate data exchange.

✔️ Security and Compliance: Implement security measures to protect sensitive data during integration processes.

✔️ Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for code, APIs, and software architecture, enabling clear communication and knowledge transfer.

✔️ Agile Development: Participate in Agile or Scrum processes, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to ensure effective project management and collaboration.

The Right Person

Essential Skills:
✔️ API or interface / Integration Development or equivalent experience.

✔️ SQL Query writing.

✔️ ETL development.

✔️ Understand data structures and relational databases.

Desirable Skills:
✔️ MuleSoft Development.

✔️ API product development (http, REST, MuleSoft design style).

✔️ Integration concepts and patterns.

✔️ Communication protocols (FTP, SFTP, HTTP).

✔️ File structures (JSON, XML, Flat file etc).

✔️ Data mapping and process definition.

✔️ Data integration tools and techniques such as ETL.

✔️ Relevant related areas such as data quality, master data management, metadata management.

✔️ Defining data models, standards, and repeatable services.

✔️ Version control and library management.

✔️ Authentication, directory services, security.

✔️ Encryption.

✔️ Process monitoring, notification, and alerting/ event management.

✔️ Any exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO.
