IT Skills Developer
Location: Liverpool (Whilst the position is based at the Liverpool office, travel to our Bolton and Burscough offices will be required occasionally)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (Whilst the basic hours are as detailed above, the role will require work to be completed outside of these hours when necessary.)

The IT Skills Developer analyses recurring support issues and delivers training sessions and materials to ensure a consistent, firm‑wide approach to system use. The role also supports staff in their day‑to‑day work by providing application guidance and troubleshooting.
In addition, the IT Skills Developer acts as a bridge between legal teams, IT and wider business stakeholders, ensuring that legal processes, case management systems and digital tools are optimised, efficient and compliant. The position combines process expertise with strong analytical, technical and project‑delivery skills to drive continuous improvement across the firm.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide friendly and professional IT training and knowledge transfer to all staff at our 4 offices
· Identify the training needs of all staff within the Firm, deliver training on many different platforms (i.e. classroom, one-to-one, seminar, workshops and e-learning) to employees of the Firm on a range of software applications
· To promote the use of the Firms IT systems and advertising the training courses available
· Monitor, evaluate and review the quality and effectiveness of the training and to amend course materials as necessary
· Create and maintain a Learning Management System to ensure all IT training records are up-to-date
· Work closely with the Technology team and business support teams to assist in the planning and implementation of new technologies and upgrades
· Project management of the Firm’s training when new systems are rolled out
· Creation and updating of all Scripts, Course Notes, Quick Reference Guides, Presentations and e-learning modules
· Devise suitable surveys to identify the IT training needs within the organisation
Key Competence Requirements
· Proven IT Training experience and working alongside a busy ServiceDesk function
· Previous experience as an IT Trainer, together with an up-to-date knowledge of current trends and development in e-learning
· Fully conversant in Office 365 - Teams, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
· Ability to establish and build productive working relationships with colleagues and external providers alike
· Excellent communication, listening, organisation and presentation skills as well as the ability to work within a team
· A sound understanding of the legal environment
· Development and production of detailed training materials including online materials
· Recent experience of a major application rollout (i.e. migration to Office 365, Telephony platform)
· Willingness to travel to other company locations in order to deliver ad-hoc training as and when required
· Excellent communication, prioritising and organisation skills
Desirable Requirements
· Experience of designing and delivering IT skills training courses to a wide range of users
· Formal training qualification such as MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer) or equivalent
· Delivery of Practice/Case Management System training
· Delivery of end user telephone systems training
· Experience of training complex workflow and automation products
· Knowledge of specific applications such as:
o Digital Dictation
o Document Management
o Client Relationship Management (CRM)
o Document Comparison
