The role:

Liverpool City Council is seeking to recruit an experienced and motivated Team Leader, Safer and Stronger Communities to play a key leadership role within our Neighbourhoods and Housing Directorate.

The Team Leader will provide operational leadership and strategic oversight across a range of community safety, neighbourhood management and partnership activities. The role will support the delivery of the Council Plan, Citysafe priorities and wider place-based initiatives that contribute to safer, cleaner and stronger communities.

As Team Leader, Safer and Stronger Communities, you will:

Lead and manage a high-performing, operational team delivering community safety and neighbourhood services across Liverpool
Lead on the management of complex Anti-social behaviour cases, critical incidents and multi-agency responses where required
Develop and maintain effective partnerships with Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, health partners, housing providers, voluntary organisations and other key stakeholders
Ensure effective governance, performance management and reporting arrangements are in place across service areas
Provide professional advice and support to senior managers, elected members and partner agencies
Ensure services are evidence-led, outcome-focused and responsive to the needs of Liverpool residents
Promote equality, diversity and inclusion across all aspects of service delivery, ensuring community voices are central to decision making
The successful Team Leader will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills and a proven ability to deliver outcomes through partnership working within a complex public sector environment
You will have a sound understanding of community safety legislation, local government governance and the challenges facing communities across Liverpool

You will be:

An experienced leader with a proven track record of managing teams and delivering high-quality services
Skilled at building effective relationships across organisations and sectors
Experienced in programme, project and performance management
Confident in presenting information and influencing a wide range of stakeholders
Knowledgeable about community safety, neighbourhood management and partnership working
Able to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
Passionate about improving outcomes for Liverpool residents and communities
