You’ll play a vital role in keeping our services running smoothly by providing high-quality administrative and office management support to a team of nurses. Acting as a central point of contact, you’ll connect teams, departments and external partnersensuring information flows efficiently and priorities are clear.
From managing referrals, busy phone lines and coordinating communications and maintaining accurate records, your work will help colleagues focus on delivering services that save and improve lives.

As an Administrator for the National Referral Centre (NRC) your main responsibilities will include:
- Upload and support management of referrals coming into the referral centre.

Act as a key communication link between managers, teams, and external organisations.

Build strong working relationships across departments and with external partners.

Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Organise events, training sessions, conferences and travel arrangements.

Maintain efficient filing systems and accurate administrative records (electronic and paper).

Monitor office supplies, process invoices and support financial administration tasks.

Support team operations, including staff records, appraisals and absence tracking.

Work flexibly, using your initiative to prioritise tasks and support colleagues when needed.
Experience and Knowledge
- Experienced in running bring forward systems and chasing progress on actions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Sharepoint.
- Experience of working in a busy office environment, using office equipment, handling conflicting deadlines and priorities.
- Experienced in undertaking research and preparing clear and concise reports, analysis and recommendations from the results.
Experienced in producing meeting agendas and minute taking.

Qualifications and Training

Experience in a business administration field equivalent to NVQ L4 OR NVQ L4 (or equivalent) qualification in Business Administration.
- European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) Part I & II / ITQ2 / CLAIT II or OCR (RSA) Level 3 in text/word processing OR demonstrable work experience.
- Willingness and ability to undertake occasional travel to other NHSBT sites and external venues, staying overnight if necessary (with appropriate prior notice).

This is a fixed term position for 12 months, working full time (37.5 hours per week) over 7 days - covering from 8am to 8pm. Occasional weekend working will be required.
