Job Title: Receptionist
Line Manager: Reception supervisor
Accountable to: Practice Manager
Anfield Group Practice is looking to recruit a receptionist to work 26 hours per week over the following shift pattern below, but must be able to cover holidays and sickness as and when required, hourly rate will depend on experience. We have a patient list size of approximately 10,000. We are currently a training practice for trainee registrar Doctors. Our team consists of 2 GP Partners, 2 salaried Gps, 2 ANPs, 2 Practice Nurses, 4 receptionists, 4 administrator, 2 secretaries and 1 care co-ordinators.
Responsibilities can include but no limited to:
- Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system
- Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers’ request appropriately
- Signpost patients to the correct service
- Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
- Clinically code data on EMIS System (if trained to do so)
- Photocopy documentation as required
- Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
- Input data into patients’ healthcare records as necessary
- Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors’ letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
- Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
- Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
- Process online Patchs requests
- Process emails and delegate to the correct necessary staff.
-To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Requirements:
-The perfect candidate must work well within a team
-Be punctual at all times
-Positive attitude and act professional at all times
-Be Flexible, to work between the hours of 8.00am and 8.00pm
- Proven work experience as a GP receptionist, in a similar role or within a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Professional phone etiquette and excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
