Community Rehabilitation Therapist (Self-Employed, Part-Time)
Due to continued growth in demand, Craven Complete is seeking to appoint a self-employed, part-time Community Rehabilitation Therapist to support the delivery and development of our therapy and rehabilitation services.
Craven Complete is a therapy and coaching company providing physiotherapy, rehabilitation and sports coaching services. We support a broad range of clients, including individuals with medical or physical difficulties, reduced mobility, and those seeking to improve sports performance. Services are delivered from our therapy and rehabilitation suite at Bodnant Welsh Food Centre, as well as within the community, including clients’ homes and residential settings.
This role is broadly comparable to a Band 4–5 Therapy Assistant position within the NHS. However, candidates who are able to offer additional relevant services or complementary skills will be particularly advantageous.
Main duties and responsibilities
· Deliver exercise-based, maintenance and hands-on therapy services, primarily within the community, with potential scope to support clinic-based services where required.
· Maintain professional standards at all times, including effective diary management and accurate, timely client record-keeping.
· Work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team to maximise client outcomes and support individual therapy plans.
· Follow prescribed and progressive therapy and exercise programmes, while demonstrating the ability to adapt, progress or regress interventions according to each client’s needs.
· Communicate constructively and proactively regarding therapy and exercise plans with the Craven Complete team and, where appropriate, with other healthcare professionals, care staff and relatives.
· Support student physiotherapists during placement periods with Craven Complete in order to maximise their learning experience. You may also be asked to attend a practice educator course to further enhance this aspect of the service.
· Contribute proactively to clinic administration, day-to-day operations and service development, and provide additional cover where required.
· Work effectively within the requirements of a part-time, self-employed position, including responsibility for your own tax and accountancy arrangements.
· Play an active role in the ongoing development of the service and contribute to decision-making as a valued member of the team.
Desirable skills and qualifications
· A sports and/or exercise therapy or instructor qualification that supports basic triage assessment and autonomous exercise prescription.
· A sports massage and/or holistic massage qualification enabling the delivery of these services within the rehabilitation suite or in community settings.
· A sports coaching and/or personal training qualification, allowing the provision of appropriate services to clients across a variety of settings.
· Willingness to provide copies of relevant certificates, together with evidence of professional registration and insurance where applicable.
· Knowledge of common medical and sporting conditions, such as stroke, muscle injuries and joint-related conditions.
· A commitment to ongoing professional development. Full support, mentoring and additional in-post training will be provided, including opportunities for further courses, some of which may be fully funded.
Personal qualities
· A friendly, professional and approachable manner, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Good computer literacy to support diary management, client note administration, data input and assistance with social media activity where required.
· A full driving licence or reliable access to transport to enable travel to and from, and between, client locations.
· Flexibility to work weekends where required.
· A genuine interest in contributing to the development of the team and its services, with the ambition to become an integral member of the organisation.
