MRI & General Radiographer
South Wales | Full-Time | Permanent | Up to £44,000 per annum
The Role
As an MRI & General Radiographer, you'll play a vital role in providing safe, effective and efficient imaging services across MRI and General Radiography. You'll work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care throughout their diagnostic journey.
You'll be involved in a wide range of examinations including musculoskeletal, abdominal, vascular, gynaecological and prostate imaging, while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI and General Radiography examinations.
- Safely carry out IV cannulation and administer contrast agents in line with protocols.
- Ensure MRI safety procedures and patient screening processes are followed at all times.
- Adapt imaging protocols to achieve optimal diagnostic quality.
- Work collaboratively with Radiologists, Consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain excellent standards of patient care and communication.
- Support quality assurance, equipment maintenance and clinical governance.
- Participate in service improvement initiatives and departmental audits.
- Contribute to a safe, efficient and patient-centred imaging service.
About You We're looking for someone who has:
- BSc (or equivalent) in Diagnostic Radiography.
- HCPC Registration.
- Significant MRI experience with strong General Radiography skills.
- Experience operating 1.5T MRI scanners (GE experience is advantageous).
- Knowledge of IR(ME)R and IRR17 regulations.
- Experience with IV cannulation and contrast administration.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
Desirable experience includes:
- Fluoroscopy and theatre imaging.
- Cardiac MRI.
- Previous private healthcare experience.
- PACS knowledge and experience.
