Playworker (Part-Time – min 16 Hours per week)
Location: Deganwy Playgroup
Hours: Part-time, 16 hours per week (with potential overtime, reviewed annually)
Salary: £13.45 per hour

The Role
We’re looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and reliable Playworker to join our friendly team. If you’re passionate about making a difference in children’s early years and enjoy working in a creative, hands-on environment, this could be the perfect role for you.
You’ll work closely with our Playleader and Playgroup Manager to deliver engaging activities that spark curiosity, encourage imagination, and help children build confidence and social skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily running of the playroom and planned play sessions.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for children aged 2–4.
- Engage children in creative, physical, and social play activities.
- Supervise children to ensure their wellbeing and safety at all times.
- Help with setting up and tidying away resources and equipment.
- Keep accurate records including attendance and safety checks.
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality policies.
- Build positive, professional relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues.
- Take part in ongoing training and professional development.
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings energy, creativity, and care to the role. You’ll need:
- A minimum Level 3 CCPLD in Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
- Experience in a playgroup, nursery, or childcare setting.
- Knowledge of CIW care standards and child protection procedures.
- A reliable, enthusiastic, and caring approach to working with children.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Welsh speaking preferred ( but not essential).
Additional Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check (provided at no cost).
- Two recent, relevant references.
