Pebbles Hwb Shop Team Member (Job Share – 2 Posts)

Location: Pebbles Hwb, Wern Road, Llanddulas (coastal location overlooking the Irish Sea) 

Hours: Flexible, averaging 22.5 hours per week per postholder Contract: 12-month fixed term (with strong potential to become permanent) Probation: 3 months .

About Pebbles Hwb

Pebbles Hwb is more than just a shop and café, it’s a brand new, community-led space right on the Llanddulas coastline, with views across Liverpool Bay and the Irish Sea.

Created by Llanddulas Youth Club CIO, Pebbles Hwb has been designed to bring people together, whether that’s locals popping in, walkers and cyclists stopping for a coffee, or visitors enjoying the coastline.

Every purchase made helps support something bigger. As a trading arm of the charity, Pebbles Hwb generates income to support vital community services at the Llanddulas Youth & Community Centre, a well-used Wellbeing Hub supporting people of all ages.

About the Role

We’re looking for two friendly, reliable and motivated individuals to join us as Retail Shop Managers in a job share role.

This is a brilliant opportunity to be part of something from the very beginning, helping shape a new community space and making it your own.

You’ll be at the heart of Pebbles Hwb, welcoming customers, serving food and drinks, managing stock, and creating a space people genuinely enjoy coming back to.

Working Hours

· This is a job share role, with two postholders working collaboratively

· Hours will be worked on a rota basis Monday to Sunday

· Working hours are flexible and seasonal, averaging 22.5 hours per week per postholder across the year

Typical patterns:

· Autumn & Winter (Sept – Feb): approx. 22.5 hours per week in total (shared)

· Spring & Summer (Mar – Aug): busier periods, up to 45 hours per week in total (shared)

· Additional hours during busy periods will be agreed in advance and paid

· Working hours will be arranged in line with operational needs and appropriate rest periods

Key Responsibilities

· Opening and closing the shop and café

· Preparing and serving drinks, light food, and snacks

· Providing a warm, friendly welcome to every customer

· Managing stock, ordering, and displays

· Handling cash and card payments

· Keeping the space clean, safe, and inviting

· Supporting volunteers and creating a positive team atmosphere

· Helping promote Pebbles Hwb within the local community

Person Specification

Essential

· Friendly, approachable, and reliable

· Experience in a customer-facing role (retail, hospitality, or similar)

· Organised and able to manage a busy environment

· Flexible and able to work across a rota including weekends

Desirable

· Experience managing a small shop or café

· Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

· Experience working with volunteers

· Interest in community-based work

Additional Information

Pebbles Hwb is a trading arm of Llanddulas Youth Club CIO. Any income generated is reinvested into local community services, particularly the Wellbeing Hub at the Llanddulas Youth & Community Centre.

Holiday entitlement and full terms will be provided in your contract and will comply with statutory requirements.
