Yard/Stores Person / Delivery Driver in Lewis Construction Building Contractors Wales Ltd We are looking for a reliable Stores person/Delivery Driver to support our busy construction operations.
The role includes managing stock, organising the stores, and delivering materials, tools, and equipment to sites across Wales.
Full UK licence required. Experience in construction or stores work is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities
- Stores Management: Perform general labour tasks such as loading and unloading materials, distribution to sites, moving equipment, and cleaning work areas.

Tasks
- Maintain an inventory of materials and equipment.
- Monitor the condition of equipment and arrange repairs where necessary.
- Arrange and provide attendance for annual tests of plant and equipment.
- To undertake, generally as part of a team, the maintenance and construction of buildings and minor civil engineering works when site support is required.
- H&S: There is a duty to always ensure the safe operation of plant and equipment with particular responsibility for the safety of the workforce and public in relation to it.
- Support Trades people: Provide support to skilled trades people, including painters, decorators, carpenters, and other specialists.
- Quality Control: Assist in Inspecting finished work to ensure it meets quality standards and rectify any imperfections.
- Material Management: Help in selecting and managing materials, ensuring cost-effective procurement and usage.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work under supervision and closely with other team members to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Transport: To use a company vehicle as required to fulfill daily work activities including carrying out vehicle checks, required routine maintenance (oil and water checks) and cleaning.
- Supervise: To supervise and mentor Apprentices if required following appropriate training. This may include completing written progress reports for Managers.
- Programme: To complete all work to a set timescale, keeping up to date with deadlines.
- Equipment: Operate powered hand tools, minor plant and machinery.
- Temporary Works: The erection and removal of temporary works and site compound areas.
- Workspace: The working area must be kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Any other duties as may be required from time to time that are commensurate to this post.
Qualifications
- Education: Relevant vocational training or certification is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of site experience, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction techniques, methods, and the use of related tools and equipment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work. Trades people must be able to read and understand drawings, measure and order materials.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Working Environment
The Yard / Stores Manager / Delivery Driver typically works from the stores in Trostre and Dafen and provides general ad-hoc support on construction sites and may need to work extended hours to meet project deadlines and quality requirements.
